This semi-staged production features Maestra Judith Yan, the full orchestra, and a partnership with the National Arts Centre Orchestra, Edmonton Opera, and the Yukon Arts Centre. Directed by Joel Ivany and showcasing rising star voices, Tosca promises an unforgettable night of passion and music.

    Tosca tells the intense story of a passionate singer, Tosca, and her lover, the painter Cavaradossi, whose lives are torn apart by the manipulative and cruel chief of police, Scarpia. As love, power, and betrayal collide, the characters must confront impossible choices with deadly consequences. This gripping production, performed by members of the Edmonton Opera Emerging Artists Program, also features conductor Maestra Judith Yan leading the Problematic Orchestra and the Yukon Community Choirs.

    Elias looks forward to singing his first Puccini role in this poignant and lyrical work. Puccini’s La Rondine is a bittersweet operetta that blends lush melodies with the elegance of Parisian society. It follows Magda, a courtesan who dreams of true love, and her fleeting romance with the young Ruggero—an affair as beautiful and brief as a swallow’s flight.
